Philander twisting his ankle during a football game and was eventually carried away off the field.

The way the 30-year-old was struggling to walk, it seems that the freak accident might put the fast bowler’s participation in the second Test in doubt.

According to media reports, Philander went for scans immediately after the incident. However, the nature and severity of his injury is not clear yet.

Premier South African speedster Dale Steyn's availability for the 2nd Test is also in question. The pacer sustained a strain in his groin during the first Test, in Mohali.

The BCCI even uploaded a video on Twitter, where Philander was being helped off the field after he injured himself on.
