Ramdev threatens campaign on Lokpal issues
Yoga Guru Ramdev threatened to launch a massive campaign from January if the central government failed to take concrete steps on Lokpal Bill.
Ghazipur (UP): Yoga Guru Ramdev on Sunday threatened to launch a massive campaign from January if the
central government failed to take concrete steps on Lokpal
Bill, black money and corruption in the winter session of
Parliament.
Ramdev said the central government should bring a strong Lokpal Bill besides taking initiatives to check price rise and bring back black money stashed in foreign banks.
"If these demands are not taken care of in the winter session of Parliament, I will start a massive campaign from January next year," he said, adding that the issues would be raised in the 2012 Assembly polls in five states. He said he will stage a token dharna on December 1 to press for his demands, and before that, he will write to the Prime Minister in this regard.
Ramdev, however, maintained that he would not contest elections. He said he would support Sri Sri Ravishankar, Anna Hazare and others who would campaign on the issues raised by him.
