IPL 6 spot fixing case: Delhi HC issues notice to all accused
Earlier, on the basis of lack of evidence, the trial court acquitted all 42 chargesheeted in the case.
New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued notice to all accused in IPL-6 spot-fixing case on Delhi Police plea against their acquittal by a trial court.
The special cell of Delhi Police on September 3 had moved to High Court to appeal against a trial court's order that let off all those accused by Delhi Police in the spot-fixing case of 2013.
Earlier, on the basis of lack of evidence, the trial court on July 25 had acquitted all 42 chargesheeted in the case, including the three IPL players of Rajasthan Royals – S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan.
The trial court had also said that there was no prime facie case under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), the law under which Delhi Police sought sentences against those accused.
