Furore in Guj Assembly over Cong MLA`s remark
Gujarat Assembly on Monday witnessed ruckus after a Congress MLA levelled allegations against Narendra Modi Government.
Gandhinagar: Gujarat Assembly on Monday witnessed ruckus after a Congress MLA levelled allegations against Narendra Modi Government over low percentage of the
minority community youth landing state jobs.
Farooq Sheikh, who represents Kalupur constituency, had sought a reply during question hour on the exact number of youth from the minority community who have secured jobs after registering with the state employment bureau.
In his reply, Labour and Employment Minister Vaju Vala said 815 out of 5393 youth who had registered themselves in Ahmedabad have been recruited.
Even though Speaker Ganpat Vasava ordered that Sheikh`s remark be expunged from the records, the defiant MLA repeated them saying the Modi government is "against the minority community". This prompted the members from opposition and treasury benches to raise slogans.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dilip Sanghani also raised a point of order objecting to the statements of Sheikh, saying he has insulted the Speaker by repeating the remarks even though they were deleted from the records.
