Williamson also proved his skills as a leader in the recently-concluded World Twenty20 in India, where he led his side to the semi-finals.Reflecting on his newest appointment, Williamson admitted that he had learned a lot from his predecessor, insisting that he was determined to continue McCullum`s legacy, Stuff.co.nz reported.

Crediting McCullum and head coach Mike Hesson for the team`s success in recent times, Williamson expressed that having good players and people alongside him would certainly make his job easier.
