Lodha Committee restricts maximum agent fee: Report
The committee will be entitled to perform a background investigation.
New Delhi: The Justice RM Lodha Committee has suggested new measures for players' agents. In addition to take care of the integrity of players' agents, the committee has also restricted the maximum agent fee.
According to a report in the Hindustan Times, the applicant will have to furnish an undertaking of not charging more than a maximum agent fee of 2% of total revenue earned.
The report by the Lodha Committee also suggests that there will be a disclosure statement for agents that will include all qualifications to serve as a player agent.
Further reports claim that the committee will be entitled to perform a background investigation.
It will be intersting to see from here when will the court ask BCCI to implement these reports. One thing is clear though, that the committee's views serves a bigger picture in maintaining more fluency with agents and protecting the overall scenario.
