The leg-spinner did this in the Divisional Mway Memorial Trophy match against Naramadapuram.

“Palash in his 28.1 overs picked up 10 wickets for just 53 runs. He bowled 10 maidens as well. No one before him has ever picked 10 wickets in an innings (at this level),” Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association statistics expert Mahavir Arya told Pradesh 18.

This performance of Palash may not have come as a surprise to his teammates considering the fact he was awarded the best bowler in the U23 category last year by the MPCA. He was also the highest wicket-taker in the Inter-divisional local tournament.

While 10 wickets in an innings will remind Indian fans of Anil Kumble, Palash's figures of 10/53 were exactly similar to the first man - Jim Laker - to take 10 wickets in an innings.

The England bowler did this against Australia at Manchester in 1956, while Kumble's 10/74 came against Pakistan at Delhi's Feroz Shah Kotla in 1999.
