New Delhi: Discarded Indian left-hander Yuvraj Singh has decided to skip the next match in the ongoing Ranji season to attend the wedding reception of former teammate Harbhajan Singh.

According to a report in Tribune News Service, Yuvraj has informed the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) that he would not be able to represent Punjab in their next match, which begins on Saturday, as he would be attending Harbhajan's marriage reception ceremony in Delhi.

Punjab are scheduled to play Andhra Pradesh in the four-day match at the Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium, while Harbhajan’s marriage reception will be held in New Delhi on Sunday.


In Yuvraj's absence, Gurkeerat Singh Mann will lead Punjab.

Earlier Yuvi also wished the couple through a hilarious tweet on Twitter.



Harbhajan and Geeta tied the knot in a traditional Punjabi wedding in Jalandhar on Thursday.


Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar was one of the special guests who attended the wedding along with wife Anjali.

The wedding reception will be held in a five-star hotel in Delhi on November 1. Several celebrities from cricket and bollywood will attend the event.
