The agitating workers of the Power Development Department also sat on a dharna to register their protest. Leaders of the PDD Association threatened to go for a major agitation if the state government did not concede to their demands before February 2.
The leaders are demanding regularisation of the services of daily wagers and casual labourers of the PDD who were working in the department for the last five to ten years. They also sought the intervention of the Chief Minister, who had promised them to regularise the services of daily wagers in a phased manner in 2009.
