Hyderabad: Denying reports that there is a rift between Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and state Congress President Botsa Satyanarayana, Union Minister Vayalar Ravi on Wednesday said both the leaders are working together.
"Fortunately, nobody came and told me there is infighting. They are not fighting each other, ordinary Congress workers. They never told me. Any how, some of the pressmen have talked about it, I talked to the (APCC) president... President said no problem, we are working together. CM is coming (to Hyderabad from Delhi) tonight. I will meet him before going. Then we will discuss the matter.
"My impression is, when I talked to Kiran Reddy in Delhi a week ago, two weeks ago..I talked to him twice on phone yesterday.. My feeling is I repeat what I said yesterday, there is no conflict or rift between CM and PCC president. I am confident both are determined to work together for the victory of the party," he told reporters here.
He was replying to a query on the alleged infighting between the Chief Minister and State Congress president.
Kiran Reddy and Satyanarayana had been recently summoned to Delhi and reportedly told by the party leadership to work unitedly for Congress` victory in the coming bypolls to 18 assembly seats. Asked what is the major area of concern he has identified during his interactions with party leaders, Ravi said party leaders felt that the welfare programmes of the state and Central governments needed to be taken to the people more effectively.
"There is no problem as such. Area of concern is they (party leaders) want programmes, party activities, Central government and state government`s welfare programmes. They feel people have to be told. These are the programmes we are carrying out for the people. That campaign has to be continued. It cannot be slackened," he said. PTI
