According to a report in the Times of India, Bhanu Joshi collided with two other fielders as the trio attempted to take a catch.

The 26-year-old, having suffered a liver rapture and a serious head injury, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

Bhanu was positioned at mid-on during the T20 match between Chanderia and Chittorgarh.

"It was a 20-20 match and in one over when the batsman of the opponent team lofted the ball, the three fielders started getting close to the ball. All three of them collided and fell down on the ground. Bhanu started bleeding when he fell on the ground. Probably he hit against small stones and concrete. He was rushed to the government hospital in Chittorgarh," a native of Chanderia village told TOI.

Upon arrival, Bhanu was given first-aid in the hospital. Unfortunately he succumbed to his injuries just as the MRI scan was about to be conducted.

"He had internal bleeding and received grave head injury," a doctor at Chittorgarh hospital told the newspaper.

"He used to play cricket every Sunday. He got married two months ago and was working in a private company where he was earning Rs 5,000 per month. He had done a diploma in mechanical engineering from a polytechnic college in Chittorgarh," said Pooja Sharma, Bhanu's sister, told TOI.
