STUMPS

The top four Proteas batsman(Cook, De Cock, Amla, Duminy) made fifties. There was a hundred wicket opening stand between Stephan Cook and Quinton de Cock, who made it to playing 11 in place of injured Dean Elgar. Duminy fifty in tests came after 2 years. Kiwi bowlers tried hard but the outside edges went to ground, inside edges did not hit the stumps. The batsman applied themselves to make a good score at the end of day's play.

New Delhi: Welcome to our live cricket blog for Day 1 of the second and final Test between South Africa and New Zealand at SuperSport Park.

New Zealand won the toss and sent South Africa in to bat in the series-deciding second and final Test at Centurion`s SuperSport Park on Saturday.

South Africa made a forced change with Stiaan van Zyl coming in for Dean Elgar, who was ruled out because of a sprained ankle.

It was the only change from the teams that played in the abandoned first Test in Durban when fewer than 100 overs were bowled before a wet, soft outfield prevented any further play.

The match was due to start in sunny conditions which were expected to continue through all five days.

The Proteas can nudge up one place to sixth in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings if they win, while the Black Caps will remain fifth irrespective of the result.
