Cold, foggy weather prevails in Punjab, Haryana
Cold conditions and foggy weather prevailed in many parts of Punjab and Haryana with mercury in Amritsar again settling at below freezing point.
Chandigarh: Cold conditions and foggy weather on Saturday prevailed in many parts of Punjab and Haryana with mercury in Amritsar again settling at below freezing point.
Amritsar in Punjab, which recorded season`s lowest minimum at minus 2.1 deg C yesterday, registered a low of minus 0.2 deg C, three notches below normal level today, the MeT office said here.
Ludhiana, too, experienced a cold night at 3.6 deg C, down three notches, while Patiala`s 5.8 deg C was two points below normal.
In Haryana, Hisar was the coldest place recording a low of 2.7 deg C, down three degrees, while the low at Karnal was 5.2 deg C.
The respective minimum temperatures at Ambala and Rohtak were recorded at 5.7 and 5.8 deg C.
Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, continued to have a cloudless sky, with the low here settling within normal level at 6.2 deg C.
