The incident took place in New Zealand's domestic tournament.

Auckland needed 12 runs to win off one ball against Northern Districts.

Graeme Aldridge, the bowler, bowled a waist high full-toss which got an edge off Andre Adams' willow and rushed past the keeper for a boundary. Apart from the boundary, the batting team was also given 2 extra runs for the no-ball as per the rule of the league.

With six needed off the last ball, the batsman hammered a length ball over long-off for a six which were the winning runs.
