The off-spinner led India to a 2-0 series win over West Indies, where he was named the Man of the Series for his terrific performance with both ball and bat.

Not just that, Ashwin also became the quickest cricketer to achieve this feat.

The 29-year-old took just 36 Test matches and 13 series to win his 6th MoS, hence beating Malcolm Marshall (21 series), Curtly Ambrose (27) and Steve Waugh (54), who all have equal number of player of the series honours to their name.

Tendulkar and Sehwag on the other hand took 74 and 39 series for 5 MoS awards.

During India's series win against the West Indies, Ashwin also became the first Indian to score two centuries and take two fifers in a Test series.

In 36 Tests so far, Ashwin has slammed 4 hundreds (all of them coming against the West Indies) and 6 fifties with the highest score of 124 runs.
