New Delhi: His former India teammates like Zaheer Khan and Virender Sehwag may have brought down curtains on their international career, but Yuvraj Singh has no plans to follow suit.
The left-hander continued his determined fight to make it back to the Indian side, as he played a sterling knock of 93 runs against a strong Mumbai side in the Vijay Hazare Trophy one-day cricket tournament at Gymkhana Ground on Thursday.
Though Mumbai eventually won the tie, Yuvi's run-a-ball innings comprised of six boundaries and six sixes.
Despite being 54 for three in the 14th over, Yuvi helped Punjab put up a score of 254 in 48.1 overs.
The 33-year-old was helped in his efforts by Mandeep Singh who scored 41.
Interestingly, chairman of selectors Sandeep Patil was present at the stadium, as Yuvi showcased his brilliance.
Though his chances of earning a recall to the Indian side look slim at the moment, nobody can fault Yuvraj for lack of effort.
Against Mumbai, Yuvraj showed glimpses of his genius and sent a strong reminder to critics that felt he was past his sell by date.
