Barca defender Gerard Pique wonders if he has set new textless tweet world record
A tweet by Pique directing towards Real Madrid after the club`s exit from Copa del Rey for fielding an ineligible player, was retweeted 100,000 times.
New Delhi: Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has reportedly inquired if he has set a new world record for textless tweet with most retweets.
A tweet by Pique directing towards Real Madrid after the club's exit from Copa del Rey for fielding an ineligible player, was retweeted 100,000 times. But strangely, the tweet featured only nine emojis crying with laughter, without text.
The 28-year old on Saturday asked if he had indeed set the record in another tweet.
Earlier, Real Madrid captain and Pique's Spanish national team-mate Sergio Ramos called up the Barcelona defender, asking for an explanation on the tweet.
And Pique had reportedly responded, "you know me, I found it funny".
Madrid had been expelled from the cup for fielding Denis Cheryshev, who should have been serving a ban, against third-tier Cadiz on Wednesday.
Madrid won the match 3-1 with Cheryshev scoring the opener.
