“UEFA is deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic events which occurred in Paris last night and wishes to express its support and solidarity to France and to those affected by these horrible acts,” the statement read.
Latest figures from French officials confirmed that at least 128 people were killed — with 87 of those deaths occurring at the Bataclan theatre, where a concert was going on during the attacks.
In addition, more than 200 people were injured during the attacks, which appear to have been co-ordinated acts of terrorism across the French capital early Friday. Of those injured, 99 people were listed as being in serious condition.
The Stade de France, where France were playing Germany in an international friendly, was among the venues targeted, with a blast, from an apparent suicide bombing, heard during the game and three fatalities reported outside the arena.
France will host UEFA's flagship tournament, European Championships next year from from June 10 to July 10.
