After leading the defending champions to their first win after three successive defeats, Mourinho stated the obvious, "Fourth position for me is not an impossible mission. If you ask me about winning the the title, I would say impossible mission."

And with that "impossible" reference, arrived this: "Maybe Tom Cruise can do it but it's complicated."

Yesterday, Diego Costa scored the lone goal of the match against visiting Norwich City at Stamford Brigde for all three points. The Blues are now in 15th spot with 14 points after 13 matches, which is another 14 points behind unexpected leaders Leicester City.

However, Mourinho is confident that Chelsea can still finish fourth and qualify for the Champions League.

"You have to recover points from four candidates. But to recover positions and points from teams that are normally in the middle of the table and to grab one of the ones that is up there but will have a bit of a collapse – because everyone will have that – I think fourth position is difficult but a possible target," he explained.

Currently, fourth place Arsenal are 12 points ahead of Chelsea.

On an average, teams finishing fourth in the league accumulate 70+ points. Considering that fact, Chelsea will need to score at least 58 more points to assure themselves of the final qualifying position for a place in the lucrative continental tournament.

That being said, will still be a huge task, as Chelsea will need to win at least 19 wins and a draw from their remaining 25 matches.
