Maoist leader surrenders in Bihar
A Maoist leader, evading arrest for the past 20 years surrendered with arms to police at the district collectorate.
Sasaram: A Maoist leader, evading arrest for the past 20 years and carrying a cash reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head, on Monday surrendered with arms to police at the district collectorate.
Tej Bahadur alias Tejwa, opearated as `sub-zonal commander` of Sone-Ganga and Bindhayachal area, surrendered to the Superitendent of Police Manu Maharaj. He also surrendered one Insas rifle, 124 cartridges and nine magazines.
The Maoist leader was carrying a cash reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head and wanted for 45 violent incidents. Maharaj said under Maoist rehabilitation scheme, the district administration provided a cheque of Rs 10,000 to his wife Chanda Devi and he would recommend to the state government for payment of other benefits to the surrendered rebel leader.
