Dehra Dun: Accusing the ruling BJP in Uttarakhand of "misusing" Central funds, Congress on Saturday alleged the state government has scrapped power projects under its "Hindu agenda".
Congress in-charge of election affairs in the state, Chaudhary Birendra Singh, also alleged that the ruling party had done nothing to tap the vast potential of tourism in Uttarakhand. Citing a report of Wikileaks, the Congress General Secretary accused the BJP government for scrapping power projects of the state under its Hindu agenda.
The state government is guilty of "misusing" the Central funds allotted for various projects, he said while interacting with media persons.
Singh claimed that Khanduri government had used funds allotted for fighting Naxalism to arrest people of Nepalese origin and portrayed them as Naxals. Confident of coming to power with a clear majority, Singh claimed that party would win 35-40 seats in the 70-member house.
"The Congress is getting an overwhelming support from the masses and the party would win at least 35-40 seats to form the next government," Singh added.
