Kannur: A meeting of top police officials would be convened on May 25 at Ernakulam which would discuss on installing CCTVs in important cities, Kerala Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said on Monday.
CCTVs will be installed in important cities in one year, he said.
There will not be any political witch-hunting in connection with the probe into the murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP leader, T P Chandrasekharan, he said at a meet-the-press programme organised by the Kannur Press Club. Government`s aim is to bring the culprits to book, he said. The probe is being conducted by an efficient team of police officials, he said. None will be allowed to intervene and threaten the investigating officials, he said.
`If anyone tries to interfere in the probe, cases will be registered against such persons,` he warned.
If there is any complaint from Chandrasekharan`s wife with regard to the ongoing probe, it would be considered, he said, adding, she had expressed satisfaction over the progress of the probe. He said there was no need to link the murder with the bypoll at Neyyattinkara. But the topic might come up for discussions during the bye-election, he said.
Earlier, the minister visited the Kannur Central Jail.
