Honda Amaze: Should You Buy It? Check Out 9 Pros And 5 Cons

All New 3rd-Generation Honda Amaze: Honda concluded 2024 with the launch of the all-new 3rd-generation Amaze in the first week of December, priced between Rs 7,99,900 and Rs 10,89,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It features an updated design and several new features, including ADAS. Notably, it is the most affordable car equipped with ADAS. It continues with a 1.2L i-VTEC petrol engine, generating 90PS and 110Nm, mated with either CVT or 5MT. The claimed mileage is 19.46 km/l for CVT and 18.65 km/l for MT variants. I (Lakshya Rana) drove the 3rd-gen Honda Amaze for a day, and based on my experience, here are its top 9 pros and 5 cons to consider if you're planning to buy it. This will help you make an informed decision on whether you should buy it or not.

1. The starting price is higher than that of competitors like Maruti Dzire and Hyundai Aura, which start at Rs 6.79 lakh and Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.

2. The manual gearbox has short gearing that keeps the driver busy in city driving.

3. The engine is noisy at high speeds (100-120 km/h), especially when pushing hard.

4. It lacks some modern features, such as a 360-degree camera, sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, a sunroof (offered in Dzire), and adjustable rear headrests.

5. The car does not have a factory-fitted CNG option, unlike competitors.

The third-generation Amaze improves on the older model with updated design, better safety features like ADAS, and more practicality. The CVT variant is the smoothest automatic in its class and hides the engine’s flaws well. However, it misses features like a sunroof, and its higher price might put off some buyers. Overall, the Amaze is a good option for those who want a well-rounded compact sedan.
