"He's putting all his experience to serve our interests and has absolutely identified with the requirements for a club like Porto. He has understood perfectly," maintained Spaniard Lopetegui in an interview with EFE on Thursday.

Lopetegui explained that Spain captain Casillas wanted to come from Real Madrid to Porto and they wanted to bring him.

"When we realized that we were in tune, everything was very simple," the coach acknowledged.

Lopetegui revealed that he talked with Casillas, who captained Spain to FIFA World Cup glory in 2010 and two European Championships in 2008 and 2012, about the requirements of a historic and very demanding club.

The coach also discussed the prospects for Spain in the Euro 2016 in France, adding that Spain has great ambitions.
