New Delhi: Sangita Gairola, an Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer, has been appointed as secretary in the ministry of culture, an official statement said on Wednesday.
Gairola, presently special secretary, ministry of social justice and empowerment, replaces Jawhar Sircar, who was appointed Prasar Bharati chief executive officer last week.

"The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Sangita Gairola, IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre, as secretary, ministry of culture, in the vacancy of Jawhar Sircar," said the statement. IANS
