Kohli, lavished praised on Chhetri, who lead the side to a record seventh SAFF Cup triumph.

It didn't take Chhetri long to come up with a befitting reply where he wished the Indian cricket team for the upcoming series to Australia in his own style.

India, who had lost to Afghanistan 0-2 in the final of 2013 edition in Kathmandu, made no mistake this time. Jeje Lalpekhlua (72nd minute) and Sunil Chhettri (101th) scored for India after Zubayr Amiri had given Afghanistan the lead in the 69th minute at the Greenfield Stadium.

Stephen Constantine's men could have won by a bigger margin had the woodwork not denied them twice in the match.
