Singh who plays for Bengaluru FC and Delhi Dynamos picked up an injury which looked pretty nasty and was substituted by 18-year-old Lallianzuala Chhangte.

Robin Singh has been in good form since the Indian Super League after registering some good performances for the Dynamos. He scored four goals in 12 matches.

Robin Singh made sure he got his form do the talking. He got India ticking right from the opener and his presence made the difference in the end. Singh's two goals gave India the advantage they needed.

The former East Bengal forward's combination with skipper Sunil Chhetri has been the cynosure of all eyes as the latter was crucial in setting both goals.

Singh's good form will give confidence to the side. But the status of his injury is unknown as the hosts will hope it isn't so serious.

Without Robin, Chhetri will have to share the workload in a young looking side. Robin's experience is crucial for India's chances in the SAFF Cup and an extended lay-off from the injury will hamper the flow of the side.

India play Nepal next on Sunday as Singh will hope to feature in the team and see the Blue Tigers through to the next round.
