After Venezuelan midfielder Juanpi neutralised Spaniard Munir El Haddadi's early goal, Barcelona were in a spot of bother. But the little Argentine was there for the Catalan giants, and he delivered in the 51st minute.

Here is the video:

From a build up involving four Barcelona players, Brazilian Adriano delivers a teasing cross from the left top-corner of the box, which was connected by Messi with his left foot brilliantly to beat a diving Malaga goal-keeper Idriss Carlos Kameni.

The finish was exceptional, but what made the goal more spectacular was Messi's well-timed run. When the build-up was on, Malaga defenders were marking a languoring Messi outside the box. But, the 28-year old produced just the perfect run to meet the ball, and that too with his magical left foot.

With the win at Estadio La Rosaleda, Barcelona are back on top of the table, one point more than Atletico Madrid, after the end of round 20 in Spain.
