New Delhi: Mario Balotelli's football career has had several ups and downs. The controversial Italian has often found himself on the wrong side of the media for his many antics on and off the pitch. Wherever he has played, Balotelli has always been in the news.
Jose Mourinho often likes to narrate some of his experiences with Super Mario during his time in Italy with Inter Milan. On Wednesday, Chelsea manager revealed yet another anecdote about the maverick striker in an interview to BT Sport.
Jose said: "We had funny problems. I told him to be at 2pm in my office for a meeting and when I called him he’d gone to the Formula 1 qualification on the Saturday for the race on Sunday.
"He said, meetings in your office I can have every day, but to see the Formula 1 is only once a year in Italy, this is a funny situation.
“A couple of days later I had to laugh.”
It is no secret that every manager, be it Roberto Mancini, Jose Mourinho or now Brendan Rodgers, has had issues in dealing with Balotelli. They have been often left fuming and frustrated with the attitude of the striker.
After he moved to England to play for Liverpool, most people thought, the storm had passed and Balotelli was now a mature player. Unfortunately, he has not just failed on the pitch, put got himself into plenty of problems off it.
The more things change, the more they remain the same. This adage definitely holds true in case of Balotelli.
