Zinedine Zidane quashes talk of replacing Rafael Benitez as Real Madrid manager
Zidane said that he was content at being the in-charge of their Castilla team.
London: Real Madrid great Zinedine Zidane has quashed speculations that he is going to replace under-fire Rafael Benitez as the team coach, saying that he is still in a learning process when it comes to coaching a senior team.
Benitez, who succeeded Carlo Ancelotti as head coach five months ago, came under heavy scrutiny after his side suffered a 4-0 defeat against arch-rivals Barcelona in Saturday El Clasico. The loss prompted calls from the team fans for his resignation.
Reflecting on the matter, Zidane said that he was content at being the in-charge of their Castilla team and claimed that he was not ready in taking up a promotion at the Bernabeu, the Guardian reported.
The Frenchman, however, had earlier stated his desire to coach the senior team of Real Madrid.
