Ghaziabad: Pakistani terrorist Abdul Matin, accused in the 1996 Modi Nagar bomb blast case, has filed a plea at a court here seeking its direction for publication of two books written by him.
Matin has moved an application in the court of additional district and session judge Sanjiv Kumar Yadav, who has asked the jail authorities to submit a report in this regard by December 20, the next date of hearing, Matin`s advocate Awadh Kumar Tyagi said.
The books named `Idea of Uniting Democracy in view of Terrorists` and `Origin of Religion` was written by Matin who is lodged in Dasna jail here, Tyagi said. Matin had earlier moved an application in the court of additional district judge R K Upadhya on 14 June this year requesting it to give its nod for publication of his books. However, the judge had rejected his application saying that it was out of the court`s jurisdiction, Tyagi said.
The Harkat-ul-Ansar operative from Pakistan was arrested in 1997 in Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir and was lodged in Bikaner jail till 2008 when he was sentenced to life imprisonment in a terror case in Rajasthan. Matin was shifted to Dasna jail in Uttar Pradesh in 2008 in connection with the trial in the Modi Nagar bomb blast case in which 16 people were killed and over 20 injured.
Martin is the son of an advocate and hails from Dhowati area in Pakistan`s Sindh province.
