The Olympic champion on Monday left for Tokyo to train at Hosei University and will stay in the Japanese capital until December, reports Xinhua.

Park was handed an 18-month ban by swimming world governing body FINA in March after testing positive for testosterone the previous fall.

Under FINA's anti-doping policy, the 2008 Olympic 400 metres freestyle winner is not permitted to train at facilities operated by the government or by his national federation. He had been working out at a public pool here since June.
