The 29-year-old landed a flurry of punches on Whiting before the fight was stopped in the third of the four-round contest, with the referee declaring Vijender as the winner via a Technical Knockout.

Reflecting on Vijender's triumph, Yadav said that he knew his compatriot would win because of his ability to land powerful punches and enduring some blows from opponents.

Yadav further said that the ace Indian boxer had trained hard in a very professional and systematic way to win the fight.

Yadav also insisted that Vijender will win his next round, but added that he would have to train much harder.

Vijender's next fight is on October 30 in Harrow.
