Lucknow: Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi Thursday alleged that there was a hidden understanding between Congress and Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh which has been exposed by Mulayam Singh Yadav accidentally.
"There was an apprehension of hidden understanding between Congress and SP...accidentally Mulayam Singh Yadav has exposed it by talking about extending support to Congress in a bid to prevent BJP," Joshi told reporters.
He said that by saying such things, the SP supremo has admitted to the fact that BJP was on its way to form the government. He said that BSP and SP were already extending their support to the Congress-led UPA and had saved it in the past on nuclear deal, voting in Lok Sabha on price rise and PAC on 2G issue.
He alleged that when role of PM office and then Finance Minister P Chidambaran started getting exposed in the PAC report, both the parties created hurdles.
Referring to Rahul Gandhi tearing a piece of paper while terming it to be a list of promises of opposition parties, Joshi said "this means that this party also does not want to contest polls on policies and ideologies, because manifesto is foundation of election and it should be debated". Targeting the PM, Joshi alleged that he admits of malnutrition among 42 per cent children in the country, but was silent on a strategy or solution to check it.
On Israel demanding India snap ties with Iran, the BJP leader said that foreign policy was not decided on suggestion or pressure of other countries.
The policy is decided while keeping national interests in mind and Israel`s demand should be seen in the same light.
