New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will on Thursday meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to hold discussion over the upcoming Presidential election.
As per reports, the Trinamoool Congress chief is expected to meet the Prime Minister in parliamenmt later today.
Sources also claim that a meeting between the Trinamoool Congress leader and Congress party president Soia Gandhi could also take place either today or tomorrow.
The West Bengal Chief Minister, who will take part in the Chief Ministers` meet on the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) issue on May 5, reached the capital yesterday. She was received by the Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath at the airport and later held discussions with Mamata over the forthcoming presidential poll.
After the meeting, Kamal Nath said, "I`m sure when Mamata meets the Prime Minister and Sonia Gandhi, there will be convergence".
However, there is still no clarity whether Congress will discuss about the possible names of presidential candidates with Mamata Banerjee right now.
On the other hand, the Trinamool Congress supremo`s close aide and Railway Minister Mukul Roy had a meeting with BJP leader Arun Jaitley yesterday at the latter`s Parliament House office for around 20 minutes.
However, it is still not clear whether the two sides held discussion over the forthcoming presidential polls or the status of Indian Railways.
