Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday cast his vote from the Lucknow-East constituency and expressed confidence that the BJP-led coalition would get an absolute majority in the assembly polls. Talking to reporters in Lucknow after casting vote along with his wife Savtri, Singh claimed the BJP was ``sweeping the polls while the main opposition -- the Samajwadi Party -- was struggling at the second or third spot``.

The Chief Minister said issues like the introduction of Most Backward Castes (MBCs) and the state government`s initiative in development-oriented schemes had made the BJP-led coalition ``an attraction for voters.``
``Besides, the people also judged my credibility, as I had done what I had announced,`` he claimed.
Refuting that there would be any adverse impact of the `Kalyan Singh factor` in the elections, he said, ``Except for God, no one can upset my political future``. Bureau Report
