New Delhi: Pristine white heritage structures of Connaught Place in the backdrop, artistes from India and seven other countries on Friday will bring alive the magic of Mozart by performing the best of arias, choruses and orchestra from his repertoire. `Mozart Magic in India`, the first-of-its kind concert, will lit up the hearts of music lovers of the capital for three days beginning Friday at the Central Park in Connaught Place and Siri Fort Auditorium on Saturday and Sunday.
The concert promises to be treat to one`s ears with musicians from India and France, a conductor from the US, a choir conductor from Russia, singers from France, India and Austria and a visiting voice coach from New Zealand performing an international fusion of sort performance. The Indian Council for Cultural Relations in collaboration with the Neemrana Music Foundation is organising the concert in the city.
The production will be a selection of arias, choruses and orchestra pieces from the vast repertoire of Mozart`s famous operas ? `The Magic Flute`, `Idomeneo`, `Cosi Fan Tutte`, `The Marriage of Figaro`.
"This is also the first time that ICCR is taking western classical music to the people in an open space. The concert is also scheduled on the banks of Brahmaputra in Guwahati," ICCR Director General Suresh Goel said. 19 musicians from Rouen Opera House in France, 26 from the Bombay Chamber Orchestra and 40 singers from The Neemrana Music Foundation Choir will come together to produce the Mozart magic.
For the first time Indian solo singers intensively trained in France will perform in the event at Siri Fort, which will also feature 40 musicians, as many choir singers and 12 solo singers. PTI
