New Delhi: Yuki Bhambri on Friday pulled out of the upcoming Davis Cup tie against South Korea as he failed to recover from an elbow injury.

Bhambri, who will turn 24 on Monday, also missed the ongoing Wimbledon due to tennis elbow. He was out of action for about two and a half months prior to the Australian Open due to the same problem.


But he was hoping to play India's Davis Cup Asia Oceania group-I tie against South Korea. The tie in Chandigarh, which will be played on grass, is scheduled for July 15 to 17.


In Bhambri's absence, 21-year-old Ramkumar Ramanathan is likely to make his India debut in the prestigious tournament. And Saketh Myneni will now be India's top-ranked singles players in the tie.


The winner of the tie which will advance to the World Group Play-offs.
