New Delhi: Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer might have struggled to upstage World No. 1 Novak Djokovic at Grand Slams lately, but the Swiss' long-time coach Severin Luthi reckons he can still beat the Serb.

In an interview with Tages Anzeiger, while Luthi praised Nole's incredible redemption over the years, he also said that the 17-time Grand Slam winner had it in him to defeat Djokovic.

“It's amazing what he is currently doing,” Luthi said as translated by Tennis World USA. “He certainly has the necessary looseness and a lot of confidence by his many wins. I would worry if I do not know how to beat him. But that is not the case. Roger has beaten him three times last year. And in the matches, where he lost, he had his chances.”

Soon after his semi-final loss to Djoker in the semi-final of Australian Open earlier this year, the Swiss Maestro underwent surgery to repair a meniscal tear on his left knee.

On the other hand, Djokovic's preparations for the upcoming French Open suffered a setback after he was stunned by Czech Jiri Vesely in the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters.
