Serena Williams eats dog-food before Italian Open match, regrets after falling ill
The American said she found it very tempting and had a `spoonful`, hours after which she rushed to the toilet.
New Delhi: In a shocking development, World No. 1 women's tennis player Serena Williams landed herself in trouble after trying dog-food ahead of her match in the Italian Open.
The hotel staff had prepared a special menu for her dog - Chip, including a tempting salmon and rice dish.
The American said she found it very tempting and had a 'spoonful', hours after which she rushed to the toilet.
"I had a spoonful...don't judge me. I ran to the toilet, I felt like I was gonna pass out.
It taste weird...a bit like house-cleaner kind of thing," she said.

The weird dish had more or less no effect on her performance as she defeated Christina McHale in the third round 7-6 (7-5), 6-1.
