New Delhi: Top seeds Sania Mirza and Ivan Dodig were knocked out of mixed doubles event on Sunday by Marin Draganja-Barbora Krejcikova pair.

The Indo-Crotian pair lasted just 67 minutes as Draganja-Krejcikova won the second round match in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.


The match witnessed as many as 10 breaks of serves, five in each sets, with Sania-Dodig conceding six times.


Earlier today, defending champs Martina Hingis and Leander Paes also made an early exit, losing to all American pair of Coco Vandeweghe and Rajeev Ram in three sets.


Hingis and Paes lost the first set 6(1)-7, but fought back to win the second set 6-3, only to lose the decider 11-13 in the second round.


However, Rohan Bopanna and Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada won their second round match against sixth seeds Czech Andrea Hlavackova and Polish Lukasz Kubot in three sets. 5-7, 6-3, 10-7.


They will play Anna-Lena Groenefeld of Germany and Robert Farah of Colombia in the next round.
