New Delhi: Stylish Indian right-hander and the skipper of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli, on Thursday invested in yet another sporting venture as he became the co-owner of IPTL franchise UAE Royals.

Kohli, who recently led India to a series win against Sri Lanka, said in a video that he was delighted to be associated with a team which had Roger Federer, and he was looking forward to hitting a few balls with him.



Earlier at an event in Dubai, while Kohli was named as the co-owner, Federer was named as the new member of the Royals' squad.


The event was attended by Mahesh Bhupathi, Managing Director - IPTL; India’s current Test cricket captain and co-owner of the UAE Royals Virat Kohli; Neelesh Bhatnagar and Sachin Gadoya, co-owners UAE Royals and Praveen Bhatnagar, CEO UAE Royals.


IPTL, promoted by tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi, will be played across five countries in Asia. The other teams are Manila Mavericks, Singapore Slammers, Micromax Indian Aces and Japan Warriors.


The tournament will be played between 2 December and 20 December this year.
