New Delhi: After defeating the legendary Roger Federer in yet another Wimbledon final, Novak Djokovic, who won his third title on Sunday thanked his fans and his team for their support throughout the tournament.

Djokovic, who had defeated the Swiss 7-6, 4-6, 7-6, 5-7, 6-4 last year, registered an 
other emphatic win, this time won 7-6 (7/1), 6-7 (10/12), 6-4, 6-3 to add this year`s Wimbledon title to the Australian Open he captured in January.


Soon after winning the title, the 28-year-old took to Twitter and posted a pic with his coach Boris Becker and wife Jelena.



Earlier this year, Djokovic was defeated in the final of the French Open, the only Grand Slam trophy eluding his cabinet, by Stanislas Wawrinka.


On the other hand, Federer's dreams of becoming the oldest Wimbledon champion of the Open Era were shattered.

The 17-time major winner has now gone three years since his last Grand Slam triumph, at Wimbledon in 2012 which he won defeating Britain's Andy Murray.
