Shanghai: Continuing his impressive run, Yuki Bhambri progressed to the singles semifinals of the USD 50,000 ATP Challenger tournament, here on Friday.

The fourth seed Indian saw off Australia's Jordan Thompson 6-2 6-2 in one hour and 11 minutes in the quarterfinals.


Yuki, who is yet to drop a set in this tournament, did not face a single breakpoint and broke his rival twice in each set.


Yuki won 61 points to 41 of the Australian.


"I was solid today. I served well consistently, so that definitely helped," Yuki said after his match.


The 23-year-old Delhi lad is the seeded player left in the tournament as others bit dust. He next faces a tough opponent in Russian qualifier Daniil Medvedev.
