The elephant later left from the spot after multiple attempts by the villagers to make the tusker go away.

This is not the first time that an elephant has been seen entering a village in search of food. In several cases last year too, wild elephants were spotted in residential areas of Coimbatore.

A high movement of wild elephants in residential areas is being seen due to the beginning of the migration and harvesting season.

Last year, roughly around the same time period, an elephant was seen entering a house in search of food. The elephant entered the house but left without causing any damage. The footage was reportedly recorded on the night of November 30 last year. Seeing the door of the house open, the calf had entered the house.
