The fishermen were arrested separately by the Lankan Navy officials.

While six fishermen were arrested from Pudukkottai, six others were held from Nagapattinam district. The Lankan navy officials also confiscated two trawler boats along with the fishermen.

The arrest reports come days after 16 Indian fishermen along with a steel hull fishing trawler were allegedly detained by the Lankan Navy separately for illegal fishing activities in Analathivu Island and Mannar district.
