New Delhi: Vodafone Idea (Vi) on Tuesday announced a one-time Rs 49 plan around 6 crore low-income customers to help them stay connected during this pandemic time. The plan will be offered to the customers for free.

Additionally, Vodafone Idea customers in the target group will get almost double benefit on recharging their mobile service account with plan value of Rs 79, the company said in a statement. 


The scheme, covering 6 crore customers with Rs 49 recharge plan, is worth Rs 294 crore. The pack offers talktime of Rs 38 and 100 MB data with a validity of 28 days. 


Airtel have already announced relief plans for customers in select segments. Bharti Airtel recently announced special benefits for low-income customers on its network to help them stay connected during the ongoing pandemic.


As a one-time gesture, Airtel will give the Rs 49 pack free of cost to over 5.5 crore low-income customers. The pack offers a talktime of Rs 38 and 100 MB data with a validity of 28 days.

Airtel's benefits worth Rs 270 cr to help 55 million low income customers to tide over the impact of Covid-19.
