Los Angeles: Veteran actor Danny Glover has joined the cast of much-anticipated adaptation of graphic novel Locke and Key.

The 71-year-old actor will essay the role of Joe Ridgeway, the eccentric English teacher at Matheson Academy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.


Locke and Key is a horror-cum-fantasy series that revolves around the Locke children who, after their father's murder, migrate to their ancestral home in Maine only to find that the house has magical keys lends them some powers.


The plot gets interesting as a demon is also seeking the keys and will fight them tooth-and-nail to attain them.


Glover's Joe takes in the three siblings but he is also someone who knows about some tragic secrets that their father kept from them.


Sources say, the Lethal Weapon star's role is not a series regular and may be as small as a cameo.


The show chiefly features Frances O'Connor, Megan Charpentier, Jackson Robert, Nate Corddry, among others.
