Wahi, who has hosted a number of shows on TV, wrote, “Dear producer and channel .. i understand we cant make shows like how i met ur mother and friends, and honestly i dont expect us to also ,but for the love of god and for the reason we all got in this industry plz dont sell me stupidity in the name of content whch gives trp because honestly noone is watching this . Leave aside other people i think the fraternity only dsnt . (sic)”

He added, “I wish and pray well fr everyone whose a part of this show also but it wud be great if we started enjoying our work and not just working because we dont have an option… Not to sound arrogant but we can be better than this (sic).”

However, Suyyash Rai, former Bigg Boss contestant, who plays a pivotal role in ‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’ defended the makers of show.

According to a report in India.com, originally attributed to Bollywoodlife.com, Suyyash, who happens to be Wahi’s friend, said, “It is too early to make a statement on the show. I don’t think Wahi knew that I was a part of it (chuckles). He told me that the statement was not directed at me. He said that it was his opinion and I am perfectly okay with that. Everyone can express themselves.”

Suyyash went on to add, “I want to know what was so disgusting about the first two episodes that people got so riled up. We did not show Ratan fantasizing Diya. It is like in school, young boys, pre-teens do have crushes on their pretty teachers. They like them and they are not aware of what they are doing. Pehredaar Piya Ki is about how they end up getting married and the complications that follow. It is not a romantic love story of a child and a young woman.”

‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’ features ‘Swaragini’ fame actress Tejaswi Prakash Wayangankar as the female lead and child artiste Afaan Khan as the male protagonist.
