The sister of the victim has raised doubts over the death of her brother questioning how he was hit in the chest. "We received a call, they told us he was shot at the wedding ceremony. Later we received a call and they told us he died. They are saying he was shot by his own rifle after someone accidentally hit it with legs but how was he hit in the chest," the sister questioned.

Police have begun investigating the case and the one who allegedly fired has been arrested. "The Army jawan died after being shot by his own rifle. The one who fired from the rifle has been arrested. Action will be taken," SSP Kanpur Akhilesh Kumar Meena said.

The soldier was posted in Ambala. A case has been registered and further investigations in the case are underway.
